Another Iraqi refugee dies in Hol Camp

Hol Camp Security Forces found the body of an Iraqi refugee who was killed with a gun. Since the beginning of 2021, the number of killings and injuries in the Hol Camp has reached 36.

Hol Camp administation revealed that the security forces found the body of a young man named Sêf Ebid Acil (21) in the second part of the camp on Tuesday.

Despite the increase in murders of Iraqi refugees in the Hol Camp, the Iraqi government still does not approve of the return of its citizens. Kerîm Nûrî from Iraqi Ministry of Immigration said that the refugees staying in the Hol Camp were denied return on the grounds that they created fear.

ISIS cells carry out massacres in the Hol Camp which is one of the most dangerous camps in the world. The number of Iraqi immigrants in the camp where more than 62 thousand refugees are staying is 30,703.

Vladimir Ivanovich Voronkov, Under-Secretary for the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office, demanded the return of 27,000 children in Hol Camp at a meeting held at the end of January. "One of the biggest issues in the world today is the terrible situation of the children in the Hol Camp", he added.

The Hol Camp management reported that its security forces found the body of another Iraqi refugee named Nimir Yasîn in the C3 commune last Sunday.
