The 1st Düsseldorf Film Festival opened with the movie "Rojbash" directed by Özkan Küçük.

In addition to film directors, actors and screenwriters, as well as representatives of Kurdish institutions attended the screening.

The director of Rojbash, Özkan Küçük, and the actors Kemal Ulusoy, Yıldız Gültekin, Nazmi Kırık and Nihat Öz answered questions at the end of the screening.

Before the film was released, a statement was made in Kurmanji and Dimili dialects and in German on behalf of the Festival Organizing Committee, saying: "Dear guests, welcome to all of you. We are happy to hold this festival in a city like Düsseldorf. We thank the people of Düsseldorf for giving the opportunity to hold this festival of Kurdish culture. Our festival is officially starting. We will watch feature films, documentaries and short films for four days. We salute all cinema workers. Our festival is the people's festival."
