The occupying Turkish state continues its attacks on areas in North and East Syria. Starting from 14 January, the Turkish army carried out airstrikes on 80 centres, most of which are basic life sources and service centres, in 72 hours. The new attacks hit power infrastructure, damaging electricity and oil stations already battered by previous raids, injuring 6 civilians. Suwaydiyah gas and electricity station, Odeh, Zarba, Rimelan, and Gir Dahol oil stations, the electricity stations of Qamishlo, Amude, Kobane, Tirbespi and Ain Issa have been the key targets. Turkey carried out 10 airstrikes on Suwaydiyah alone.
Communes and assemblies in Kobanê city made a press statement in front of the power station which was the target of the attacks launched by the occupying Turkish state on 14 January against the infrastructure of the North-East Syrian region.
Speaking on behalf of those gathered in front of the power station, which cannot provide water and electricity to the city and 360 villages after the recent wave of attacks, Mistefa Êto, Co-Chair of Kobanê City Assembly, condemned the occupation attacks.
'We will do our best to serve the people'
Mistefa Êto emphasised that the targeting of the region's infrastructures, service institutions and civilian settlements is an inhuman crime and said, "As the assembly and communes, we will stand by our service institutions. We will provide support to the power station management."
Êto thanked the energy management for working day and night to meet the needs of the people.
Welîd Ciman, Co-Chair of the Euphrates Region Energy Office, thanked the assembly and communes and said that they would do their best to serve the people.
