New Council formed in Northern Syria

The number of Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration Councils increased to 10.

The Northern and Eastern Syrian Autonomous Administration Council held its regular meeting at the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) building in the district of Ayn Isa.

Numerous delegates joined the meeting which was opened by Berivan Xalid and Ebid El-Mihbas, co-chairs of the Executive Council of the Northern Syrian Autonomous Administration. The co-chairs submitted a proposal about the Youth and Sports Council. The proposal was approved by all council delegates and Meha Faisal Mihemed and Mehmud El-Hemed were elected co-chairs of the Youth and Sport Council.

With the establishment of this new council, the number of Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration Councils increased to 10.

Sîham Qeryo, co-chair of the Northern and Eastern Syrian Autonomous Administration assessed the latest developments in the region. Qeryo condemned the attacks carried out by the occupying Turkish state against the Northern Syrian territory and said that the people of the region would continue to implement the democratic nation project despite all attacks.

Speaking at the meeting, participants pointed out the killing of Sheikh Bashir El-Hiwêdi in Raqqa and insisted that the peoples of the region will continue to work together and will reject any attempt to divide them.

Following the speeches, the Preparatory Committee Agreement read the Northern and Eastern Syrian Autonomous Administration Statute conformed by 35 articles.

The next meeting will be held on 15 November.
