TKP-ML: Comrade Sinan was a precious example of revolutionism
HPG Command Council and HBDH Executive Committee member Sinan Dersim, saying, "Comrade Sinan was a precious example of what kind of revolutionism and leadership should be carried out."
The Communist Party of Turkey/Marxist–Leninist (TKP-ML) made a written statement on the martyrdom of Sinan Dersim (Dalokay Şanlı), a member of HPG (People’s Defense Forces) Command Council and HBDH (Peoples’ United Revolutionary Movement) Executive Committee, who was martyred on October 27, 2020, as a result of an airstrike by the Turkish state in the Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan, northern Iraq.
The statement said, "Our comrade Sinan Dersim talked about what he knew and did what he talked about. He showed that knowing and willing are not enough and that we need to act. Since he once said ‘If there is freedom, there is no death’, he will always live in our ideals and memories like all freedom fighters.”
The statement further said:
"Sinan Dersim was not only a militant and pioneer of the Kurdish national liberation movement. He was also a fearless militant and competent executive staff of the Peoples’ United Revolutionary Movement. He made great efforts in the development and advancement of the united revolutionary struggle with his unifying and integrating practice. Just like our leading comrades who had been martyred before him, he knew how to be a comrade of revolutionaries of all nationalities, and he demonstrated it through his life and work.
He was a precious example that showed how revolutionism and leadership should be carried out in our geography where oppression and tyranny are always increasing.
Sinan Dersim will live in our fight like all of our comrades who made dry lands green like seeds thrown into the ground, and his legacy of struggle will be adopted with honor."
