KCDK-E commemorates Sinan Dersim: "He was a great revolutionary"

The Kurdish European umbrella organization KCDK-E commemorated the fallen revolutionary Sinan Dersim and stated that his long-standing work will continue in Europe.

The Kurdish Democratic Social Congress Europe (KCDK-E) issued a statement in memory of Sinan Dersim (Dalokay Şanlı). The revolutionary, who was from Dersim, died in a Turkish air strike on October 27, 2020. Before that, he was in Europe for many years and worked for the expansion of Kurdish institutions and an organized network within Kurdish society in the diaspora.

The statement of the KCDK-E said: "The Kurdish liberation struggle continues at a rapid pace. The people of Kurdistan are defending their existence with great determination against all forms of attacks and the genocidal concept of the fascist Turkish state. However, in this struggle, a heavy toll is also being paid. In all positions, on all fronts and in every action, young Kurdish people are fighting, sacrificing their lives and joining the caravan of the martyrs. Meanwhile, the death of the martyrs stands for a merit, for dignity and for a free life."

The struggle and revolutionary life of Sinan Dersim are difficult to describe in words, said the KCDK-E: "He was a great revolutionary and patriot who participated in the revolution in Kurdistan and was active in Europe for many years. As a member of KCDK-E, he was committed to the emergence of a democratic society and the organization of people from Kurdistan living in Europe."

The statement pointed out that Sinan Dersim dedicated his entire life to the revolution and that the KCDK-E considers it its duty to continue his work and thus live up to his ideals: "He worked very hard to make our organization bigger and develop throughout Europe. We will do everything to deepen his efforts and to organize ourselves even better and to be even more successful. We bow with respect before Sinan Dersim and all other martyrs and remember them with gratitude and respect."
