Number of people remanded in custody in Amed increases to 7

Zeki Dağ, Hanım Altındağ and a person whose name could not be learned were arrested during the operations against MEBYA-DER on Friday evening, while Mevlüde Gündüz was released on condition of judicial control.

Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on 27 February and 3 March, 28 people, including MEBYA-DER co-chairs and executives, were detained.

Among those detained, four people, including HDP deputy Dersim Dağ's father, Zeki Dağ, HDP Kayapınar District co-chair Hanım Altındağ, MEBYA-DER member Mevlüde Gündüz, appeared in court. While Zeki Dağ, who was referred to the court on charges of "being a member of an illegal organization" and Hanım Altındağ, were arrested; Mevlüde Gündüz was released on the condition of judicial control.

With the arrest of Dağ, Altındağ and another person whose name could not be established, the number of people remanded in custody within the scope of the operation increased to 7, while the number of those released under the condition of judicial control increased to 3. Among those arrested on 2 March, are the executives of MEBYA-DER, Meryem Soylu, 79, and Hatun Aslan, 71 years old. MEYA-DER Director Muzaffer Ulaş and DBP Bağlar District executive Tahir Gül were arrested on 4 March.
