Leyla Güven awarded the Ibrahim Ehmed prize

Leyla Güven's message was conveyed at the ceremony.

DTK co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven has been on hunger strike for 153 days demanding the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

She has been awarded the Ibrahim Ehmed prize.

The awards are given in memory of Kurdish politician and writer Ibrahim Ehmed.

This year the 19th edition of the İbrahim Ehmed gold award was given in Sulaymaniyah at the Tewarî Hunerî Hall. The prize was awarded to DTK co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven who has been on hunger strike for 153 days demanding the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan

Şanaz İbrahim, daughter of İbrahim Ehmed and the director of the İbrahim Ehmed Foundation, awarded the prize to HDP South Kurdistan organization co-chair Müzeyyen Güneş.

Güneş also conveyed Leyla Güven's message at the ceremony.
