Iran: The incident can be considered closed

Iran's embassy in the United Nations said that "the incident can be considered closed" after the attack on Israel and that "revenge has been taken".

Iran says it carried out the attack in response to an Israeli raid on the Iranian consulate in Syria on April 1 and says the matter can now "be deemed concluded."

Israel said more than 300 drones and missiles were launched at it from Iran, Iraq and Yemen, adding that the vast majority of them have been intercepted.

Italy has called a video meeting of G7 leaders to discuss the Iranian attack on Israel, sources in the prime minister’s office told Reuters.

Some flights took off from Tel Aviv this morning, according to Flight Radar 24, a flight-tracking application.

The late Saturday night attack set off-air raid sirens in cities across Israel, including Tel Aviv and West Jerusalem, and explosions were heard as air defences intercepted the projectiles.

The Israeli military said the Iranian salvo consisted of more than 300 “killer drones, ballistic missiles and cruise missiles”, but that 99 percent were intercepted with help from forces from France, the United Kingdom and the United States.
