The Interventionist Left has joined the worldwide campaign for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan, saying; "The Kurdish freedom movement is our ally in the struggle for a solidarist, ecological and gender-just society."
As the 22nd anniversary of the international conspiracy of February 15, 1999 approaches, the peoples are increasingly demanding physical freedom for Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Participation in the ‘The Time Has Come, Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan" campaign introduced by South African institutions on January 11 is also increasing.
German Interventionist Left (Interventionistische Linke - IL) which is organized in 33 cities of Germany, has announced its participation in the worldwide campaign that calls upon the United Nations to play its role for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan.
Making a written statement, the Interventionist Left said,“As IL, we are participating in the Freedom for Öcalan letter campaign developed by the South African Workers Union to urge the UN. We demand the freedom of the legitimate Leader of the Kurdish people’’.
In particular, we are making this demand to protest the German state's efforts to make Abdullah Öcalan forgotten by banning his images, posters and name.
At the same time, we demand the criminalization and ban policies against the PKK to be abandoned.
We also demand the release of all political prisoners who are imprisoned in Germany and Turkey because of the criminalization of the PKK.
The Kurdish Freedom Movement is our ally in our struggle for a solidarist, ecological and gender-liberal society. We demand an end to the political, military and economic support given to the AKP-MHP regime”.
Away with the PKK ban!!! With RiseUp4Rojava and Rheinmetall Disarm, we demand an end to German support for the Turkish AKP/MHP regime," the IL also said.
