Blast in Turkish capital Ankara leaves 5 dead, 10 wounded

According to initial reports, 5 people have died and 10 others got wounded as a result of an explosion in Turkish capital Ankara Wednesday evening.

Turkish capital city Ankara has been shaken by a huge blast Wednesday evening.

The explosion took place in the area where the headquarters of Turkish General Staff, Air Forces Command and Land Forces Command are located. The blast has reportedly occurred as buses carrying military personnel were heading near military buildings in central Ankara city.

According to initial reports, 5 people have died and 10 others got wounded as a result of the explosion on Merasim Street linking İnönü Boulevard to Dikmen Avenue.

The blast is reported to have been caused from an attack with a bomb-laden car.

In the meantime, media blackout has been imposed on the explosion.
