YPG Press Office has announced the IDs of 20 YPG-YPJ (People's/Women's Defense Units) fighters that fell martyr as result of the Turkish aerial attack on Qereçox on April 25.

The statement by YPG Press Office said the following:

“The YPG General Command Headquarters in Qereçox region was bombed by Turkish warplanes at 02:00 on April 25. The aerial attack targeted the YPG Press Centre office, Dengê Rojava (Voice of Rojava) Radio station building, printing house and military institutions. As result of the attacks, 20 YPG-YPJ fighters, among them 3 Press Centre workers, fell martyr and 18 others were wounded.

The attack also claimed the life of YPG commander Mihemed Xelîl (Ristem Zêdan) who was commanding the battle given against the ISIS gangs in Raqqa.

The Turkish state carried out this attack as ISIS gangs suffered heavy blows in the hands of YPG, YPJ, SDF and international coalition forces in Tabqa and Raqqa. This attack was conducted in order to provide support to the gangs and reduce the pressure on them.

We as YPG General Command state our people in Rojava and Northern Syria that this attack by the Turkish state will not weaken our struggle against the gangs.

We are calling on the international coalition to prevent the Turkish state from attacking our people and the Rojava and Northern Syrian forces. We will respond to the attacks under the terms of legitimate defense and international law.

We express our condolences to our heroic people and the families of our martyrs and call for their support to the defense forces, and to strengthen their unity against the AKP's attacks.

We invite all our people to the big ceremony, which will be organized in Martyr Xebat Derik Cemetery in order to send our martyrs on their last journey on April 29th. We reiterate that we will be the followers of our martyrs until we build a free and safe country."
