Thousands of people participated in the demonstration in Kobanê to protest the 15 February international conspiracy against Abdullah Öcalan.
People of Kobanê took to the streets to protest against the international conspiracy that resulted in the arrest of Abdullah Öcalan in Kenya and his handover to Kenya on 15 February 1999.
The crowd marched from Free Women’s Square to Street 48 where a rally was held.
Speaking here, Kongra Star Coordination member Arîn Ehmed said, “Fascist states wanted to destroy the Kurdish people through the international conspiracy and to separate Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the people from each other. Against those who made 15 February a black day, our people will turn this day into a Newroz day, a bright day.”
Arîn Ehmed said that the time has come for the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Öcalan and added: “With the freedom of Leader Öcalan, the problems of the Middle East and all the problems of the world will be resolved, and the whole world will attain peace and stability.”
The rally ended with the slogans “Bê Serok Jiyan nabe” (No Life Without the Leader) and “Berxwedan Jiyane” (Resistance is Life).
