On the 26th anniversary of the 15 February International Conspiracy, thousands of people took to the streets in Strasbourg, France today. The demonstration is organised as part of the global campaign “Freedom for Öcalan, a political solution to the Kurdish question” launched worldwide on October 10, 2023.
A central march from Metz Boulevard to Parc De L'Etoile was followed by a rally which started with the Kurdish anthem ‘Ey Reqib’.
People attending the rally are chanting the slogans “Bijî Serok Apo" (Long Live Leader Öcalan), "Bê Serok Jiyan Nabe" (No Life Without the Leader), "Bijî Berxwedana Kobanê" (Long Live the Kobanê Resistance) and "Bijî Berxwedana Tişrînê" (Long Live the Tishrin Resistance).
Addressing the crowd, Zübeyde Zümrüt, Co-Chair of the Democratic Kurdish Communities Congress in Europe (KCDK-E) said that the international conspiracy failed to achieve its goal as a result of the resistance of the people.
“The Kurdish question cannot be solved without the freedom of Leader Öcalan,” Zübeyde Zümrüt said and called for an end to the isolation imposed on the Kurdish leader if negotiations are to be held for a solution to the Kurdish question in Turkey.
Zümrüt denounced the genocidal policies against the Kurdish people, vowing to raise their voices even louder.
Speaking after, KCDK-E Co-Chair Engin Sever said: “You could not and cannot darken our sun. Today, once again, I call on our people to unite around Leader Öcalan. Let's expand the struggle for freedom for Leader Öcalan everywhere.”
The rally continues with speeches.
