Yazidi politician Mam Beşîr buried in Shengal

The Yazidi politician Mam Beşîr, who died three days ago of a heart attack, was buried in Shengal on Saturday. Hundreds of people joined the funeral ceremony.

The Yazidi politician Mam Beşîr (Hasan Dutar) was buried in Shengal. His remains were transferred from Xanesor to the "Şehîd Dilgeş û Berxwedan" martyr cemetery. There, fighters of the YBŞ and YJŞ paid their last tribute to the fallen politician with a military ceremony.

The YBŞ commander Tirêj Şengalî gave a speech in which he praised the commitment of Mam Beşîr and announced that he would defend all the achievements made in Shengal. Hisên Hecî, on behalf of the Yazidi Freedom and Democracy Party (PADÊ), recalled the struggle that Mam Beşîr waged for the Kurdish and Yazidi people for 37 years. “It was his dream to be buried next to Mam Zekî,” said the PADÊ representative.

Sabriye Dutar, the wife of Mam Beşîr, expressed her condolences to the entire Kurdish people and to Abdullah Öcalan. Naima Şemo from the Yazidi women's movement TAJÊ said in a speech that the deceased fought for the autonomy of Shengal and that this fight will continue.
