Turkish army operation in Çarçela continues since March 25

The operation launched by the Turkish army in Çarçela area on the border of Hakkari’s Gever (Yüksekova) district on March 25 continues.

HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office released a written statement providing information regarding the ongoing operations, activities and attacks of the Turkish army in North and South Kurdistan territory, and continued actions by guerrilla forces.

Accordingly, guerrillas hit the soldiers on move on Leylek hill on the border of Hakkari’s Gever (Yüksekova) district at 10:00 on April 4. Guerrillas also hit with heavy weapons the soldiers airdropped by Sikorsky helicopters on the hill. The number of soldiers killed or wounded here couldn't be clarified.

HPG reported that the operation launched by the Turkish army in Çarçela area on the border of Hakkari’s Gever (Yüksekova) district on March 25 continues. As part of the operation, Cobra type helicopters of the Turkish army shelled Martyr Rênas and Muhabere hills in Çarçela area with howitzer and mortar fire on April 3rd and 4th.

At between 08:30 – 10:00 on April 4, Turkish warplanes bombed the Qesrokê hamlet in Heftanin area of Medya Defense Zones in South Kurdistan territory.
