HPG issued a written statement regarding the increasingly ongoing military activities of the Turkish army, reporting that the Turkish army had lunched a military operation in Ağrı province intending provocation. HPG said; “provocation attempts increased intensively against our guerrilla forces in the area.”

“The Turkish army's unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) performed reconnaissance flights over Xakurke area of Media Defence Zones between 22.30 on May 29 and 03.00 on May 30 (today). The aerial activities continued increasingly over our guerrilla areas."

According to the statement:

The Turkish army's UAVs performed reconnaissance flights over

- Avashin area from 11.00 to 15.30 on May 29 and from 03.00 to 12.00 on May 30,

- Gare area between 16.00 and 17.00 May 29,

- Zap region between 11.30 and 16.00 on May 29,

- Metina area between 03.00 and 04.00 on May 30,

- Akdağ and Şehit Remzi areas in Amed between 11.00 and 18.00 on May 29.

Around 50 Turkish soldiers lunched a military operation in the area around Yekmal guardhouse located on border line of Heftanin area of Media Defence Zones at 05.00 on May 29.

The Turkish army has laid ambushes in the area around Xiran village of Mazgirt district of Dersim province for a week.

HPG said that a military operation was launched by the Turkish army in Ağrı province as provocation attempts have increased intensively against the guerrilla forces in the area.

“Our guerrilla forces acted carefully against the Turkish army's provocation attempts in order to prevent a possible conflict”, HPG said, adding that Turkish troops lunched an operation in Sinega area of Ağrı province by armored vehicles at 06.00 on May 29.

According to the statement, the Turkish army laid ambushes in Gelîyê Hecî Dodo, Gelîyê Serbend and Gelîyê Açmê areas surrounding Îsal territory, Tılık, Açmê and Hecî Dodo villages. The operation forces withdrew at 16.00 in the same day inconclusively.

Military activity of the Turkish army has also taken place in Sarıkamış and Selim districts of Kars province for the last 15 days, HPG said, reporting that Turkish troops have laid ambushes and increased deployment in Selimiye forest in Sarıkamış district of Kars province for a long time now.

Turkish army's UAVs performed reconnaissance flights over Patnos district of Ağrı province and Habur, Şah way, Mexela Sor and Goma Reci Reşit areas of Patnos district at 14.30 on May 29.

According to the HPG statement, Turkish army bombarded the areas by mortar and howitzer around Oremar guardhouse in Yüksekova district of Hakkari province and Şehit Gafur area located on border line of Avashin area between 08.00 and 12.30 on May 30. Besides, the Turkish army's UAVs performed reconnaissance flights over Şuke area located on border line between 03.00 and 11.00 in the same day.
