YPG/YPJ (People's/Women's Defense Units) have liberated six villages in the ongoing operation to cleanse the western rural area and villages of the Canton Cizîrê of West Kurdistan, Rojava. The names of the liberated villages are Um El Mesamîr Ereb, Um El Mesamîr Rojava, Heci Qedrî, HiwêcE, Til HemaM and El Mesamîra Ekrad.

YPG Media Centre said in a written statement that the 'Operation Remembering Commander Rûbar Qamişlo' that has been initiated by members of the People’s/Women’s Defense Units with the objective of fully liberating the rural district of Canton Cizîrê, Rojava, continues effectively on the 12th nonstop day.

The statement reported that last night in southeast and southwest Til Temir town, Cizîrê region, YPG/YPJ forces launched numerous concurrent assault operations. Heavily targeting ISIS-occupied positions in the area from two distinct axis, YPG/YPJ troops eventually managed to liberate a number of objected locations after fierce fighting with the terrorist elements. Throughout this process, YPG said, Defense Units could cleanse the villages of Um El Mesamîr Ereb, Um El Mesamîr Rojava and Heci Qedrî – 6 kilometers southeast Til Temir – of ISIS forces, and merge further advance on that front. Correspondingly closing on southwest Til Temir, YPG/YPJ forces liberated Hiwêce, Til Hemam and El Mesamîra Ekrad villages, within 7, 10 and 8 kilometers south Til Temir. Along these lines, YPG/YPJ troops reached each other of two sides, and forced a siege on ISIS fighters which were hemmed in an extended area.

Further details could verify the killing of at least 23 members of terrorist forces during the battles on this frontline, as well as a large number of enemy forces who were wounded in the course. During the time assaults were conducted against gang groups, a fighter of Defense Units who played a big role for the success of the operations, fought bravely on the fields of battle, and was martyred in action.

Moreover on the same area YPG/YPJ forces’ attacks continued yesterday evening in Til Hemam village where 3 ISIS fighters were confirmed killed. Similarly, 2 members of gang groups were captured alive throughout the operations carried out by Defense Units yesterday near Til Temir.
