Protests continue in Rania

Demonstrators have reportedly set the Gorran Movement bureau on fire in Rania, Southern Kurdistan.

As anti-government protests continue across Southern Kurdistan, people took to the streets in the town of Rania as of early morning hours today. Proterters have reportedly set the Gorran (Change) Movement bureau on fire after burning the bureau of Socialist Democratic Party in the morning.

During yesterday’s protests in Rania, asayish (public security) forces opened fire on masses, killing 6 people and wounding 103 others, 80 of whom are in critical conditions.
