Operation against ISIS gangs south of Kirkuk

A large scale operation has been launched against ISIS gangs near the Daqoq town in Kirkuk city of South Kurdistan. Peshmerga are reported to be meters away from entering the village of Uzêriye held by ISIS.

A large scale operation has been launched against ISIS gangs near the Daqoq town in Kirkuk city of  South Kurdistan. Peshmerga are reported to be meters away from entering the village of Uzêriye held by ISIS.

South Kurdistan anti-terror forces commanded by Lahor Şex Cengî and peshmerga units deployed south of Kirkuk have started an operation on and around the village of Uzêriye under ISIS control early this morning.

According to reporters in the operation area, ISIS gangs are fortifying their positions and have laid mines in many areas in the region. Yet, the entrance of peshmerga units in the village is reported to be imminent.

Heavy clashes in the region are continuing.
