One SDF fighter martyred, three others wounded in clash with an ISIS cell in Deir ez-Zor countryside

Clash erupted between SDF forces and an ISIS cell in Deir ez-Zor countryside as ISIS is trying to exploit the chaos in Syria in an attempt to revive itself and carry out attacks, particularly in North-East Syria.

On Thursday evening, clashes erupted between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and an ISIS terrorist cell in the Abu Hamam area, Deir ez-Zor’s eastern countryside.

According to the SDF Press Center, the terrorist cell treacherously and cowardly targeted one of the SDF’s military vehicles, prompting an immediate response from SDF forces.

As a result of the clashes, one of the SDF fighters was martyred and three others were wounded. The number of casualties among the attacking terrorist cell remains unknown, said the SDF statement.

The SDF pointed out that: "ISIS is trying to exploit the chaos in Syria in an attempt to revive itself and carry out attacks across various areas, particularly in northern and eastern Syria. Nevertheless, our forces remain determined to pursue the remnants of ISIS cells and uphold the security and stability of our regions."
