The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) released a statement welcoming the recent decision regarding the lifting of sanctions imposed on Syria: “The SDF expresses its profound appreciation to His Excellency U.S. President Donald Trump for suspending these restrictive measures. This important decision will positively impact the lives of the Syrian people.”

The SDC recognizes the valuable contributions of regional partners in this process. It particularly commends the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its constructive role, noting that several other influential regional actors have also supported these efforts to alleviate the humanitarian suffering and move the Syrian crisis toward resolution.

“This step represents a glimmer of hope for Syrians who have endured years of conflict, blockade, and economic pressures. The sanctions' suspension creates opportunities for a comprehensive political solution. Most importantly, it helps preserve Syria’s territorial integrity while protecting all communities within its society,” SDC said.
