The Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES) issued a written statement regarding the democratic nation project of Abdullah Öcalan.
The statement said: "In the midst of the accumulated crises caused by decades of denial, rejection, nationalism, and religious fanaticism in the Middle East, we, as the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, affirm that Mr. Öcalan’s project offers a profound solution to the region’s problems on the basis of peace, democracy, and social justice."
A broad perspective
The statement continued: "Mr. Öcalan has put forward a broad perspective to end the decades-long conflicts in the Middle East through the principles of a democratic nation, the brotherhood of peoples, women's liberation, and ecological preservation. This project does not merely aim to solve the Kurdish question; it also provides a roadmap to free the peoples of the region from oppression, nationalism, and religious fanaticism.
A rightful step to strengthen internal peace and coexistence
This project has had a visible and concrete impact on the situation in Syria, particularly in North and East Syria. It points to the right path for strengthening internal peace and fostering coexistence among diverse communities. The experiences in our regions demonstrate that this project reflects the will of the people and has helped establish a democratic model in which the people actively participate in self-governance through their own free will."
Democratic joint struggle is a cornerstone
The statement added: "In this context, we emphasize the importance of strengthening solidarity and support among peoples on the basis of shared democratic values in light of this historic step. This is the fundamental guarantee for building a society that rejects colonialism in all its forms and embraces diversity. Advancing a joint democratic struggle among the peoples of the region is the cornerstone of real transformation and the establishment of a new system based on freedom and human dignity."
