Mine explosion kills two fighters in Shengal region

The Yazidi Resistance Units of Shengal (YJŞ/YJŞ) report two dead and three injured after a mine explosion in Til Ezer.

Two members of the Yazidi resistance units YBŞ/YJŞ died in a mine explosion in the Shengal region. Three other fighters were injured, some of them seriously.

The detonation of a mine laid by the terrorist militia ISIS occurred on Monday afternoon in the village of Til Ezer. The village had been captured during the ISIS raid on Shengal in August 2014 and later liberated by the Iraqi military and the Shiite militia Hashdi al-Shaabi. A year and a half ago, control of Til Ezer was handed over to the Autonomous Council of Shengal and the local defence forces.

The injured YBŞ/YJŞ members are being treated in a hospital; no further information is known about their condition. Meanwhile, the resistance units of Shengal have announced that they will announce the identities of the fallen soon.
