Kurdistan Parliamentarians' Union forms initiative against war

Kurdistan Parliamentarians' Union, which took the initiative against Turkey’s attempts to instigate a civil war between the Kurds through the KDP, said they would try to resolve the existing problems and disputes through dialogue on behalf of the Kurds.

The Kurdistan Parliamentarians' Union announced that an initiative has been established against the attempts by the invading Turkish state to instigate a civil war between the Kurds through the KDP (Kurdistan Democratic Party), the ruling party in the autonomous regional government in Southern Kurdistan (Northern Iraq).

In a written statement, the Kurdistan Parliamentarians' Union pointed out that the initiative will work to prevent attempts to stir a conflict. Calling for dialogue, the Union warned of a possible conflict among the Kurds.

The statement articulated the following:

“We felt the need for an initiative to create a basis for dialogue to resolve the crises. We want to act responsibly and prevent violence and a possible conflict. We can come together under the same roof, come up with a solution to all our problems in line with national interests to determine the fate of the people. We have to solve problems radically. We are introducing an initiative with great hope because we consider that this is in the interest of the nation and the country. We do not want Kurdish youth to shed each other's blood, to make old wounds bleed again and to make the enemy happy.”

The statement came after the announcement of Masoud Barzani, which is considered by the Kurdish public as a declaration of war. In a statement made about a week after PKK Executive Committee Member Karayılan called for common sense and dialogue, KDP President Masoud Barzani opted for accusing the PKK without using a single word about the occupation of the Turkish state.
