Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) has issued a written statement announcing that they will be holding a National Unity Workshop in Southern Kurdistan on January 26-27.

The statement says national unity efforts will continue with the aim to carry on democratic dialogue in Southern Kurdistan, discuss national issues and develop solutions to current problems.

The KNK stated that a national unity principles project has been prepared with 21 points as a result of meetings, workshops, conferences and projects during the process. The statement called for participation to the workshop to be held for all parties to share views and proposals over this project.

The KNK statement concluded with:

“We will be holding the National Unity Workshop on January 26 and 27, 2018. The political climate in the region changes very rapidly. Southern Kurdistan is going through a difficult time. Especially Iran and Turkey have plans over the region. The best solution against all these is national unity.”
