KDP establishes new checkpoint in Metina area

KDP forces established a new checkpoint in Xişxaşa village in the Metina area of Southern Kurdistan (Northern Iraq) on 28 December.

The forces affiliated with the KDP established a new checkpoint in Xişxaşa village in the Metina area at noon on 28 December. Since the KDP forces came to the field, settlement processes continues and cabinets and containers are placed at the checkpoint. It is reported that those positioned here have taken attack position.

According to the information obtained from local sources, a checkpoint was also established in the village of Qumriyê in the Metina area. Whether this checkpoint is for settlement or for reinforcements could not be determined.

PEOPLE CONCERNED

The KDP's recent practices and actions have also caused concern among the people of the region. After the attack against guerrilla forces in the Amadiya area on December 13, the people of the region do not want the same situation to happen again.
