Turkish jet fighters carried out an aerial attack on the Asos Mountain near Sulaymaniyah the other night. The Asos Mountain is outside the Medya Defense Zones and on the border of Rojhilat (Eastern Kurdistan). This has been the first aerial strike on the PUK-controlled area.

According to information PUK sources gave the ANF, the attack was a joint effort between Turkey and Iran. Iranian drones went on a scouting mission in the area and provided Turkey with coordinates.

Eastern Kurdistan Units (YRK) forces are also present on the Asos Mountain. The Turkish state, already hostile towards Rojava, Southern and Northern Kurdistan, has carried the attacks over to Eastern Kurdistan by bombing Asos.

Meanwhile, Southern Kurdistani political parties have remained significantly silent on the attack. PUK, who controls the area, has not issued any statements yet.
