The People’s Defence Forces (HPG) Press Office has reported in a written statement that the Turkish army has attempted to enter the Medya Defence Zones where guerrilla forces are based. The aerial activity of the Turkish army has also increased over Medya Defence Zones according to the statement of the HPG.

HPG reported that drone activity over Govendeve Mamreşo of the Zagros area took place between 19 April at 20:00 and on 20 April at 03:00, adding that reconnaissance flights have also increased over the Medya Defence Zones.

HPG reported that aerial activity of the Turkish army took place over martyr Rahime and Şukebire areas at the Avaşin border line between 19 April at 19:00 and 20 April at 06:00; over Metina area on the same days between 19:00 and 03:00; over Zap border line and Ertus, Ciloye Picuk areas between 19 April at 09:30 and 22:00 and on 20 April between 06:00 and 07:00;  over Gabar area of Botan on 17-18 April and over Martyr Brusk area of Amed on 20 April at between 00:00-04:00.

HPG further reported that the Turkish army deployed forces on 3 hills around the martyr Kendal area at the Heftanin border three days ago and has carried out actions in an attempt to infiltrate the guerrilla zones to provoke conflict. HPG said the guerrilla forces are acting responsibly in order that there is no conflict with the Turkish soldiers despite their provocations, adding that the guerrilla forces however will not remain silent against attacks.

HPG also reported that the Turkish army has set up ambushes on the road to the dam in the Silvan district of Amed and said the guerrilla forces carried out a warning action against this increased activity in the area. HPG said the culvert on the road used for military and operational purposes by the Turkish army has been damaged by the actions of the guerrillas.

HPG lastly reported that the Iranian army also carried out drone activity over the Kandil area on 19 April between 0:00 - 12:00 and between 20:00 - 21:00.
