HPG: Guerrillas hit Turkish targets in Çelê

HPG/YJA Star guerrillas carried out actions targeting Turkish soldiers in the countryside of Hakkari’s Çelê (Çukurca) district on April 2nd and 3rd.

HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office released a statement providing information regarding the recent actions by guerrillas and continued attacks by the Turkish army.

Accordingly, guerrillas hit the construction equipment operating at the 49 outpost and damaged a bulldozer in Hakkari’s Çelê (Çukurca) district at 10:15 on April 3.

Following the action, a brief armed confrontation took place between guerrillas and a Turkish military unit laying an ambush in this area. While the number of soldiers killed or wounded in the clash couldn't be clarified, Turkish forces in the surrounding outposts shelled the scene with howitzer and mortar fire after the action.

At between 12.00 - 12.30 on April 2, guerrillas hit two containers on Koordine hill on the border of Çelê with heavy weaponry. During the same hours, guerrillas also hit the positions of Turkish forces on the hill. The number of dead or wounded soldiers here couldn't be clarified.

At 19:30 on March 25, Cobra helicopters of the Turkish army bombed Kırê İnegê and Kulê areas in Bazid (Doğubeyazıt) district of Ağrı. Turkish helicopters continued the bombardment of the same areas and started an operation on March 26. The operation was retreated inconclusively on March 27.
