HPG: Five occupiers killed, drone shot down by guerrillas in Southern Kurdistan

The guerrillas continue to resist Turkey's occupation of Southern Kurdistan, with five soldiers killed and a drone shot down on Saturday. The Turkish army is committing war crimes and building military roads in the guerrilla areas.

According to the press centre of the People's Defence Forces (HPG), five soldiers of the Turkish occupation forces were killed in Southern Kurdistan on Saturday. Two other soldiers were injured, while the guerrillas also destroyed an enemy position and shot down a drone. Meanwhile, the Turkish army continues military road construction in the guerrilla areas and continues to commit war crimes through the use of prohibited combat equipment.

GUERRILLA ACTIONS IN MEDYA DEFENSE ZONES

In the areas of Çemço and Saca, Turkish troops were struck by mobile guerrilla teams with heavy weapons on 15 October, and one soldier was killed. At Girê Şehîd Derwêş in Xakurke, guerrillas of the YJA Star (Free Women’s Troops) hit a Turkish position with heavy weapons, leaving the position destroyed and three soldiers dead. Another guerrilla action with heavy weapons targeted the occupying forces at Girê Şehîd Şahan in Xakurke. Two soldiers were injured in an action carried out with heavy weapons at Girê Cûdî. At Girê Amêdî, a soldier was shot dead by a sniper on Saturday, and a drone was shot down at 8.20 am today.

ATTACKS BY THE TURKISH ARMY

According to HPG information, the Turkish army attacked the Şehîd Yunus position at Girê Cûdî ten times on Saturday with banned bombs and chemical weapons. Chemical weapons were used three times and banned bombs three times against the Şehîd Felat position in Sîda. The Çemço, Girê FM, Girê Cûdî and Girê Amêdî areas were attacked with howitzers, tanks, mortars and heavy weapons.

In the Karker area in the Zap region, the Turkish army continues its attempts to demolish guerrilla positions with construction machinery. In addition, the construction of a military road from Sida to the resistance area Şehîd Fedakar in Çemço has begun.
