HDP MP Alican Önlü released

HDP Dersim MP Alican Önlü who was taken into custody in Amed earlier today, has been released.

Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Dersim MP Alican Önlü has been taken into custody at Diyarbakır Courthouse where he went earlier today to monitor the hearing against Amed MP İdris Baluken who has been sentenced to 16 years and 11 months in prison.

Önlü was reportedly detained in the scope of an “forced court appearance” order issued against him because he has not testified so far in two cases opened against him by Şırnak Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The HDP MP was released after giving his statement in connection with two case files in which he is accused of participation in events and marches in Şırnak in 2015 and 2016.
