The Press Office of Burkan Al-Fırat Kobanê Operation Unit has issued a statement on the official website of the organisation, reporting that they have liberated 7 villages in the scope of the operation to cleanse Girê Spî of ISIS gangs, and added that the operations of the Burkan Al-Fırat are continuing in the region against the gangs.
The names of villages liberated are as follows: Çiqor Xerbî, Çiqor Şerqî, Derbteht Xerbî, Derbteht Şerqî, Mera Ser, Boz Hamo and Cirûd. The statement also said the number of casualties of the gangs had not been ascertained.
In the meantime, the YPG/YPJ forces, continuing their operations in the scope of the Commander Rubar Qamislo Operation in Cizir canton have reportedly liberated 3 villages, while breaking the attacks of the gang groups in Serêkaniyê and Hol and killing 14 ISIS members.
YPG/YPJ forces have cleansed 3 villages of gangs in the Mebruka area at the border of Cizir canton and the rural areas around the villages. The liberated villages, Um Cirin, Xwara and Til Seyara Dirokî are at a 40-45 km distance from Serêkanîyê. No further information could be obtained regarding the casualties as clashes are continuing in the region. The YPG Press Office is expected to announce the results of the operation in the coming hours.
