4 HPC fighters martyred defending the Shehba region

4 members of Social Defence Forces lost their lives in the Shehba region amid attacks by Turkish-backed mercenaries who have been frustrated.

The Social Defence Forces (HPC) in Shehba released a statement providing information about the latest developments in the region following the increasing activity and attacks by the Turkish-backed Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and allied groups.

The statement on Sunday said the following:

“On 30 November 2024, the occupying Turkish state and its paramilitary gangs tried to carry out large-scale attacks on Shehba and its countryside. The response by the Social Defence Forces resulted in clashes in the Shehba region and villages, and did not allow the mercenaries to achieve their goal.

In the course of the ensuing fighting, three members of Shehba Social Defence Forces, Canyar, Sipan and Cihan, fell as martyrs whilst putting up a heroic fight.

On the other hand, a fighter named Şahin Efrin, from the Arab component of Shehba Social Defence Forces, was martyred on 30 November as a result of an accident while on duty.

We commemorate our comrades Şahin, Canyar, Sipan and Cihan with love and respect, and we bow respectfully in front of their memories.”
