13 people detained in Lice

Turkish police carried out a political genocide operation in Lice in parallel with military operation of the Turkish army, detaining 13 people including elderly and mukhtars.

The Turkish army launched an operation in the rural areas of Mızag (Kılıçlı), Xemzê (Bayırlı), Mexmedêlê, Melê (Yönlüce), Qörmık (Konuklu), Zengesor (Akçabudak), Dızeyni (Yamaçlı) villages / neighborhoods in the north and northeast of Amed's (Diyarbakir) Lice district in the morning hours. Political genocide operations were carried out in many villages in an air-supported operation. Thirteen people, including village headmen (mukhtar) and elderly people, were detained.

The headman of Yönlüce village Mekin Yalçın and a 74-year-old citizen Ramazan Aslan from Duzeyni village, were among those detained. It is reported that the detainees were taken to the Lice Gendarmerie Station Command and then to the Diyarbakır police headquarters anti-terror branch.

A restriction decision was placed on the files of the detainees.
