People’s Defence Forces (HPG) Sinjar Command and Sinjar Resistance Units (YBŞ) General Command have issued a joint statement regarding the ongoing operations against the ISIS gangs in Sinjar. The statement reported that 10 gang members have been killed in the last two days of the operations which are also joined by the MLKP (Marxist Leninist Communist Party) fighters.
The statement reported that forces of resistance carried out several targeted attacks on the gang groups in Zeynep Sitti neighborhood at around 21:30 on 24 May, as a result of which two gang members were killed.
According to the statement, HPG and YBŞ guerrillas carried out an attack with heavy weapons on the gangs in the town centre at between 13:00 -14:00 on 25 May, leaving 1 gang member dead.
The statement reported two other targeted attacks on the gangs in Xeyr Nasr and Sitti Zeynep neighborhoods at 20:30 on 25 May, in which 2 gang members were killed.
The joint statement of the HPG and YBŞ Commands went on saying that an extensive sabotage action was carried out by HPG/YBŞ guerrillas and MLKP fighters during the passage of a truck of the gangs on Sinjar- Kızılkent road, which left the vehicle destroyed and 2 gang members dead.
The gangs that came to the scene after the action were also hit, as a result of which 1 member of theirs was killed and one other was wounded. 2 others gang members that came to the scene later were also shot dead.
