Ayşegül Doğan: Öcalan’s letter has reached Qandil, Europe and the Autonomous Administration

DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan confirmed that Öcalan had sent a letter to Qandil, Europe and North-East Syria.

The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan held a press conference regarding the ongoing Central Executive Committee (MYK) meeting at the party's headquarters in Ankara.

Ayşegül Doğan spoke out against the appointment of a trustee to the Van Metropolitan Municipality and called it a “conspiracy”. She saluted everyone who did not give up despite the pressure, police attacks and violence.

Ayşegül Doğan said, “The representative of the people is being replaced by a governor, a representative of the state. They boast about this. Claiming this matter to be a regional issue, they have been trying to usurp in a different way what they could not win in the elections since 2016.”

Regarding the claims that Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan sent a letter to Qandil after his meetings with the İmralı Delegation, Ayşegül Doğan said: “I would like to provide direct information about this issue. Yes, Mr. Öcalan's letter has reached both Qandil and Europe, as well as North and East Syria, the relevant authorities. They have also announced it themselves. There is a letter that was delivered to the KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) officials in Qandil, to the SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) officials in North and East Syria and to the KCDK-E (Kurdish Democratic Societies Congress in Europe) and KNK (Kurdistan National Congress) in Europe. We want it to be known that we have no contact in İmralı except the DEM Party's İmralı delegation.”
