The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), and the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES) convened their regular coordination meeting on Monday to assess the situation in Syria and the region in general, as well as to review the progress of dialogue with the new administration in Damascus.
According to a statement by the SDF Press Center, the meeting emphasized the importance of initiating a series of local meetings across all cities in northern and eastern Syria. These meetings will involve representatives from various societal groups to ensure inclusive and effective participation in the political process.
The meeting reaffirmed the significance of the ongoing dialogue with Damascus, underscoring the commitment to its success. It highlighted the necessity of reaching agreements to reach an appropriate implementation mechanism on other issues including the integration of military and administrative institutions and the return of forcibly displaced people to their places of origin etc. Additionally, all other outstanding issues should be resolved through dialogue to establish a viable and mutually acceptable implementation mechanism.
Furthermore, the meeting stressed that achieving a sustainable ceasefire is fundamental for progress in the dialogue process. It also called on the new administration in Damascus to fulfill its responsibilities in ensuring and maintaining the ceasefire.
