Protests against the appointment of a trustee to Van (Wan) Metropolitan Municipality continue. Already 22 people were remanded in custody on Monday, while today, Tuesday, 18 more people, including 5 children, were sent to prison. The total of people sent to prison has reached 40.

Over 100 people still in custody

There are currently more than 100 people still in custody. The majority have been detained on charges of "being a member of an illegal organization" and violating Law No. 2911.
