Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Official Spokesman Talal Ali Silo spokesperson spoke to ANHA on the first year anniversary of the SDF’S establishment. Talal Silo noted that there are many military structures in Syria, and the SDF brought these forces together and became the joint front against ISIS and similar terrorist groups. Silo said they started their struggle with 13 groups but now continue with 32 groups, and their strength grew as many young people joined them because of their reality and correct position.
'Liberation operations will continue'
In his summary of SDF’s efforts during its first year, Talal Silo pointed out that: "SDF started its operations on the day it was established. We participated in the operation to liberate Hawl and the villages to the south of Hesekê, then the operation to liberate Tishreen Dam and the villages to the south of Kobanê, the operation to liberate Shaddadi also named as ‘Habur’s Wrath,’ the Êlên and Cudî revenge operations in the villages of Cizîrê Canton and Girê Spî, and lastly the operation to liberate Manbij led by the Manbij Military Council.
'Federalism should be acknowledged’
SDF Spokesman remarked that they are part of the international coalition against ISIS but have only received aerial support so far, and criticized the Security Council for not fulfilling its duty regarding the international acknowledgment of federalism that will soon be declared in the region.
'We are the force of the people'
Silo emphasized that certain local and international forces cannot accept the growing militaristic and strategic strength of the SDF, and said "They show enmity to us because we are a national force that fights for the future of Syrian peoples. We defeated groups backed by Turkey. This made their enmity towards us worse. They try to defame us as they accuse of certain things. However, the strong will of our soldiers and the support of our people will upset these plans."
'People’s demands have been met'
SDF Spokesmannoted that they carry out all of their operations upon peoples’ requests and people govern themselves after the SDF hands over the control of the areas it liberates to civilians. He added: "This is what separates us from other structures. Our forces have been welcomed wherever they went. Many Arab and Turkmen youths joined our forces after our liberation operations. We started training the youth. Our promise has been to clear all of Syria from terror, and we will keep our promise."
