The Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (Partiya Jiyana Azad a Kurdistanê or PJAK) Co-President Siyamend Muini spoke to ANF about the KDP's attack on Shengal.
Muini stressed that such practices do not serve the Kurdistan people but the colonialist states in the region, urging the KDP to stop these policies.
"KURDS ARE IN A CRITICAL PROCESS IN THE MIDDLE EAST"
Remarking that Kurds have entered a critical process in the Middle East, PJAK Co-President Siyamend Muini said: “All the developments are in favor of the Kurds today. This must be utilized very well. Our movement is doing its part in this regard. It is a must to achieve national unity as opportunities to this end are closer than ever. Kurds can both unite among themselves and be a party against the international powers. However, some Kurdish parties have regrettably become instruments of colonialist forces today.”
"THE TURKISH STATE WANTS THE KURDS TO SLAUGHTER EACH OTHER"
Muini continued; "The Turkish state cannot tolerate the Kurdish gains and aims to either annihilate or weaken these gains, doing anything it can to this end. The deals it made with ISIS and Al-Nusra and consequent attacks are a part of these policies. After failing in that plan, Turkey now wants to make Kurds slaughter each other. This is what is happening today."
"KDP AND THE BARZANİ FAMILY ARE INVOLVED IN BETRAYAL"
Describing the attack on Shengal as a repeated attempt of massacre, PJAK Co-President continued:
"The Turkish state has started a war against the Kurds through the KDP and Barzani family. The Turkish state has got many military bases in this (Southern Kurdistan) region. Two years ago, KDP forces fled and handed Shengal over to the ISIS, which equals to an approval of the suffered massacre. After that day, Êzidîs established their own legitimate defense forces to prevent another edict, and they are fighting to protect their lands and lives. KDP and affiliated Rojava peshmergas did not fight against the ISIS one single day, but today they are attacking Shengal and conducting activities against the gains of Rojava. What does this force have to do in Shengal region? Why are they fighting there? This is not sensible at all. They have nothing to do there. AKP and KDP want a repetition of what was experienced there two years ago.
Regrettably, Barzani wants a repetition of their historic betrayal while this many developments in favor of the Kurds are taking place in the Middle East and Kurds are this much close to freedom today. He is serving the gains and interests of the colonialists.
There is nothing in KDP history that benefits our people. The history has dozens of examples of betrayal, which they want to continue today as well. Our people must know this reality very well. This policy does not serve Kurdistan nor the benefits of our people.
If the Kurds fail to utilize this historic opportunity, we will lose once again like what happened with Sykes-Picot Agreement and the Treaty of Lausanne. We will lose for another century."
