In memory of HPG commander Serhed Tolhildan

Known for his humble, self-sacrificing and brave stance, HPG commander Serhed Tolhildan fought until his last breath for a free life.

HPG commander Nihad Esed was born in Amude, in Rojava, in 1991. He grew up in a patriotic family that paid great prices. One of the reasons for Nihad Assad's participation in the freedom movement, was the Rojava Revolution, and the other is that his sister was already in the guerrilla ranks. He went to the mountains of Kurdistan in 2013.

After Nihad Esed joined the guerrillas, he took the name Serhed Tolhildan. After reaching the guerrillas, he opened a new page in his life.

He studied in Garê and successfully completed his education. During the practical work in Garê, he became a popular person among his comrades for his modesty. He went to the academy in order to be able to fight a stronger struggle and respond to the current process. In order to better understand the philosophy and thoughts of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, he went to the field of education and improved himself on this basis.

After the education he received, he went to Avaşîn province. Known for its guerrilla resistance, Avaşîn is the new battleground for Tolhildan, who became a brave commander there. He continued his struggle in all areas of life in a wilful, courageous and conscious manner.

Commander Tolhildan left a legacy to the guerrillas in the resistance camps with the infrastructure preparations made by Commander Serhed in Zagros. He filled his whole life with love of his country, self-sacrifice, determination, courage and heroism. He fell as a martyr with his comrade Egîd Gabar on 26 March 2021 during Heroes Week.
