Hundred thousand people attended the funeral of 4 of the 7 Kurdish guerrillas who lost their life in an operation in the Dersim area on 26 April.
The funeral of Uður Utanç (Munzur Amed), Hakan Gem (Tekoþer Amed), Þeyhmuz Akak (Rizgar Amed) and Rojvan Serhat Baþalak (Canfeda Soro) was organized in Diyarbakir. The coffins of the guerrillas were accompanied by thousand of mourners.
The shops did not open in mourning in many areas of the city and nearby villages.
The mourners carried photos of the 4 guerrillas and chanted slogans against Prime Minister Erdogan.
Ninety percent of workplaces did not opened in Ergani conferring a strange silence to the city. Many vehicles left for Diyarbakýr to join the funeral ceremonies of the four guerrillas while police presence was reported to be very heavy in the city.
Responding to the call by Silvan People's Initiative, the workplaces in the district did not open. BDP Silvan District Organization hung a black cloth on the BDP building.
Shops and workplaces did not open in Lice where mourning was declared for the seven HPG guerrillas. While a black cloth was hung in front of BDP Lice Organization.
While all workplaces are closed in Bismil except for pharmacies and bakeries, BDP Bismil Organization announced three-day mourning in the district.
