Öcalan celebrates the Feast of Sacrifice "without sacrifice"

Following a visit to İmralı, Ömer Öcalan shared Abdullah Öcalan’s message on Eid al-Adha.

Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and fellow prisoners, Ömer Hayri Konar, Hamili Yıldırım, Veysi Aktaş, Zeki Bayhan, Mahmut Yamalak and Engin Atabey, were visited by their families at Imrali F-Type High Security Prison on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

Öcalan met with his nephews, People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) MP Ömer Öcalan and Ali Öcalan, on June 7. During yesterday's meeting, the Kurdish leader was also able to see his two young nephews for the first time in 26 years.

The Kurdish leader’s nephew, Ömer Öcalan, shared the following message on his social media account regarding the meeting they held in İmralı:

"On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, we held a meeting with Mr. Abdullah Öcalan. Our belief that the process that began with the ‘Call for Peace and Democratic Society’ will open the door to a new politics, a new organization, and a new meaning has been reinforced. During this period of significant and historic developments, I am sharing Mr. Abdullah Öcalan’s Eid message with the public: “I extend my greetings to our people on the Feast of Sacrifice without sacrifice. Greetings to all our people.”
