The lockdown announced to try and prevent the coronavirus outbreak, has caused great changes in daily life.
A group of Aleppo artists tried to benefit from the lockdown by developing a project called 'Afrin Art'. The project includes 27 artists who all communicate via social media. They talk about their arts, work, projects.
Royar Bekir is one of the members of the group and shares the painting she draws on the wall of her room with the other group members. She does so over the internet and receives the criticism and suggestions from her friends.
The main purpose of the project is to enable artists to share their experiences and promote artistic seminars.
Expressing her satisfaction about this new way of working which actually turned the lockdown into an opportunity for artists in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud (Şêxmeqsûd) and Ashrafiyah (Eşrefiyê), Royar Bekir told ANHA that the artists actually plan to carry on the project throughout the curfew.
