HPG Media Center reported that HPG guerillas continue to respond to Turkish army attacks as they kill tens of soldiers, damage one tank and one helicopter, and destroy several military vehicles.

HPG reported that guerillas attacked the City Security Command in Van city center at 23:00 on July 31, and wounded 3 soldiers. HPG guerillas also attacked Hacıbekir military post located in between Van’s Hacıbekir and Kurubaş neighborhoods, and wounded 2 specialist sergeants here. HPG guerillas sabotaged a military convoy in Van’s Bahçesaray district between 11:00 and 15:30 on August 1, and damaged 2 Akrep armored vehicles as well as a Turkish army tank.

HPG stated that guerillas blocked the roads between Hakkari-Çukurca and Hakkari-Şırnak, and damaged a Kobra helicopter that flew over the roads in order to lift the HPG blockade.

HPG said that guerillas carried out road blockages in between the Farqin and Pasur districts of Amed and the Sason district of Batman between 20:00 and 22:00 on August 1, and informed passing by civilians about the recent political process. HPG guerillas also sabotaged an oil well in the Kara Ali village of Amed’s Farqin district, and destroyed 1 oil production machine, 3 containers and 1 storage facility.

HPG announced that Turkish soldiers laid ambushes in the Arıcak district of Elazığ, Genç district of Bingöl, and Lice district of Amed on July 31. Turkish artillery and tanks also bombed the area surrounding Tırman guard post in Elazığ’s Arıcak district. HPG guerillas attacked 2 armored vehicles in the Varto district of Muş on the evening of July 31, and the number of soldier casualties here has not yet been determined.

HPG reported that guerillas sabotaged the Turkish soldiers that had come to the road between Erzurum and Kağızman in order to clear the wreckage of the armored vehicle that had earlier been destroyed here, and killed 4 soldiers during this sabotage. HPG guerillas also attacked the Hasanhan guard post in Iğdır at 21:00 on August 1, and destroyed 2 sentry boxes. The number of soldier casualties here has not yet been determined.

TENS OF SOLDIERS DIED IN BAZID, A DETAILED STATEMENT WILL SOON BE RELEASED

HPG announced that guerillas carried out an effective sabotage targeting Karabulak guard post in Ağrı’s Bazid district at 02:50 on August 2, and tens of soldiers and special operations police officers were killed during this attack. HPG added that a detailed statement on this attack would soon be shared with the public.

CONTRA UNIT IN ERZURUM

HPG ended its statement by saying that a contra unit of 7-8 people were carrying out activities in the Karayazı district of Erzurum, and warned civilians in the region about this contra unit.
