Fierce clashes between YPG-YPJ forces and ISIS gangs in Girê Spî continue

YPG reported that fierce clashes are taking place in the Meshura Sor neighborhood of Girê Spî (Til Ebyad), while many villages around the city have been liberated.

YPG Press Office issued a written statement with regards to the ongoing Commander Rubar Qamişlo Operation targeting ISIS gangs in Girê Spî (Til Ebyad) and its surroundings. YPG has reported that fierce clashes are taking place in the Meshura Sor neighborhood of Girê Spî (Til Ebyad), while many villages around the city have been liberated.

YPG Press Office said the Commander Rubar Qamislo Operation launched from two directions (Kobanê and Cizîr) by YPG/YPJ forces continues on its 40th day.

SOUTHERN FRONT CLEANSED OF THE GANGS

YPG reported that YPG/YPJ forces have cleansed Doxaniyê and Malha villages on the banks of Celleb River of ISIS gangs last night. YPG also said that fierce clashes broke out last night between YPG/YPJ forces and ISIS gangs in the Xirbet Riz village located nearby, and the village has been liberated this afternoon. YPG further reported that YPG/YPJ forces, advancing in parallel to the border with North Kurdistan, has taken control of strategically important points that are 1 km away from the Girê Spî – Akçakale border gate.

HEAVY CLASHES IN MEŞHURA JOR NEIGHBORHOOD

YPG Media Center reported heavy clashes in Meşhura Jor neighborhood between YPG-YPJ forces that arrived at Girê Spî from the northeast and ISIS gangs. According to the YPG statement, YPG-YPJ forces reached Meşhura Jor neighborhood after liberating the villages of Til Berîq and Xabura, which came after hours of fighting last night.

GİRÊ SPÎ – RAKKA ROAD UNDER YPG-YPJ CONTROL

YPG Media Center stated that YPG-YPJ forces from Kobanê arrived at Girê Spî from the west after liberating the villages of Leklêgo, Bir Zinar, Zinar, Kor Hêsên, Savan, El Begêr, Sifeyan, Kefîfa and Lûetfê that are located along the Turkish border. According to the YPG report, YPG-YPJ forces also liberated Kayseriyê village that lies 13 km to the south of Girê Spî and took control of the Girê Spî-Rakka road.

YPG Media Center reported that the villages of Hicaciyê, Xatuniyê and Mindalî have also been liberated, and numerous gang members were killed and injured. During this operation, YPG forces confiscated 3 kalashnikovs, 3,000 kalashnikov bullets, 1 BKC rifle, 1,500 BKC bullets, 2 B7 rocket propellers, 12 B7 rockets, 1 walkie-talkie and other military equipments. YPG Media Center ended its statement by adding that 3 YPG-YPJ fighters lost their lives during the liberation of these villages.
