Thousands of YPJ fighters are actively joining the Operation Cizire Storm and have become the response for the rescue of all women with their adamant resistance and struggle. They are now bearing the very philosophy of the woman's freedom, which they learned from Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Every single YPJ fighter carries with her a unique story of resistance and struggle. Nazlıcan Fırat is one of those fighters engaged in the middle of an unparalleled resistance and has taken a seat in the Operation Cizire Storm.
Nazlıcan stated that she joined the YPJ in 2012 and said: "I wanted to fill the pages of the history of the woman's freedom with my blood, as did all our martyred comrades. I participated in many operations to liberate towns and countryside of Western Kurdistan (Rojava). We, the female fighters, have also taken a significant position in the protection of the people of Shengal against the attacks of the ISIS gangs. The martyrdom of our comrades Jiyanda, Dara and Agir in Shengal has been very heavy on us. They fell martyrs while trying to get comrade Agir out of the enemy's line. And I am now keeping track of avenging my comrades. Words are by no means enough to express the resistance and struggle our martyred comrades mounted."
Nazlıcan Fırat noted that no matter how severe they might get injured, they will on all accounts fulfil the desire to avenge their comrades and added: "Regardless of how massive their attacks against us might be, and regardless of how grave we might get injured, we will take revenge for all of our martyred comrades. I the same way the YPJ led the revolution, they are also continuing this struggle of theirs with the spirit of freedom. We, the fighters of the YPJ, have taken position in the Operation Cizire Storm. We call on the women of Deir ez-Zor to break the chains of repression and submission and join the ranks of freedom. The goal of our struggle and resistance is to achieve the freedom of all peoples and especially of the women who were subject to torture and violence."
