The human shield action launched by the Gire Spi border against the Turkish state’s threats of invasion against Northern and Eastern Syria continues on day 24. Kongreya Star Gire Spi Coordination members visited the action in solidarity and issued a statement there.
Fedeya Serif read the statement, stressing that the threat against Northern and Eastern Syria continues at the hands of the AKP-led Turkish state, which has invaded Afrin, Bab, Azaz, Jarablus and other areas in Syria since the beginning of the conflict. Serif said ISIS gangs have committed all kinds of crimes against the civilians in areas they occupied, including the women of Shengal, and added that the SDF, YPG and YPJ liberated Shengal and Northern and Eastern Syria.
Serifsaid the Turkish state aimed to disrupt the unity between the Kurdish, Arab, Armenian and Turkmen peoples in the region through their threats and added that the region’s peoples live in peace, unity and freedom within the framework of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s ideology and philosophy. Serif said The Turkish state dreams of reinstating the Ottoman empire and their actions to that end have created a grand crisis. The Turkish state supports gangs like ISIS and Al Nusra, as well as working to create a crisis of security in Egypt and Libya, said Serif.
Serif repeated Kongreya Star’s promise to continue on the path of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of their country and women. Serif continued: “We are calling on the UN to establish an international court to put ISIS members on trial and to stop the Turkish state’s threats against the region. We are a people, we are united in heart and conscience. We will resist with the Democratic Nation project.”
The press statement concluded with slogans.
