Women in solidarity with Raqqa refugees

Raqqa People's Municipality Women's Office is carrying out a strong solidarity work with the refugees in Raqqa.

Raqqa People's Municipality Women's Office has created a "Solidarity Fund" for refugees in Raqqa. Women are bringing the collected aid to refugees thus strengthening solidarity.

Women who helped more than 300 refugee families last year, this year have reached out to 1,500 people. Women continue to assist refugees and families in need through a committee of around 15 people. Women who provide fuel, winter clothing, food and health benefits also offer job opportunities for women in need.

Providing information about the solidarity network of women who are trying to cover the treatment costs of seriously ill people as well, Evatef El Isa, a member of the Women's Office, told ANHA: “We are expanding the solidarity network with refugees every passing day. We are trying to meet all the needs of families with difficulties. This project, which we started to implement a year ago, is growing constantly thanks to many people willing to help."
